A good start! Though maybe you might add a bit more drama to the part where the vamps attack rather than having it just happen. There's some good opportunity for buildup before the battle begins. Maybe have the vampire army come out of the trees bearing torches--that way you can illustrate their numerical advantage. You can use this video as a model; it's from the movie Troy and depicts the arrival of the Greek army outside Troy's walls. Maybe the shapeshifter see it and Loki's mother gives a rousing speech before the fighting starts lol. Shoot to give a similar vibe in your writing.
